New and Noteworthy Bars/ Breweries in Wilmington NC 2022

If you have been following the craft beer industry for the last few years, you will notice the huge uptick in breweries that have been popping up. Micro breweries can fit into so many different spaces, from warehouses, to office buildings, you can't turn a corner without running into fresh crafted beer. It's a problem we love to have as the alcohol industry has grown tremendously. The Brewers Association (for small and independent brewers) stated that total beer sales were up 1% in 2021, reaching $100.2 billion – they also noted that sales of craft beer specifically increased by 8%. So what does that tell us about the beer industry, as a whole? Well, consumers are more educated these days. They are becoming enthusiasts, or "beer nerds" and their drinking is a reflection of socializing, tasting, and supporting local. As the craft brewers grow, so do the consumers.


Many small business owners were forced to permanently shut their doors, due to the 2020 pandemic. We are approaching a new era of businesses in 2022, one with outdoor seating, strict sanitation, and plenty of to-go options. Wilmington, NC saw plenty of doors close, so we are eager to see some new businesses and breweries opening this year! 1) DrumTrout Brewing Company DrumTrout is set to open in Spring 2022, located in the Pine Valley area/ Fulton station. Their owner/ brewer has been making craft beer in Wilmington for over 10 years. His experience goes from home brewing to brewing for Bills Brewing/ Captain Bills. They are uni
