2024 Mural Finalist Chosen to Paint The Newly Built Cancer Treatment Center Scott's Hill NC
In November 2024 Stephanie Bagwell was the chosen artist to design and paint a mural with meaning. This was going to be a project like nothing she had ever done. Dedicated to the patients undergoing treatment at the newly constructed Novant Cancer Treatment Center in Scott's Hill. Novant selected this design out of dozens of applicants for the project.
2024 Wilmington Business Journal Published Artist
In January 2024 Stephanie's mixed media painting "Blue Wave" was chosen to be published in Wilmington Business Journal's "2024 Book On Business." The publication was revealed at Holiday Inn Resort on Wrightsville Beach on January 23rd. Stephanie's work was chosen out of several hundred applicants and was on display during the book reveal, where dozens of business owners celebrated the launch.
Art Exhibition & International Conference
In February 2019 Stephanie's work was chosen to be a part of the National Humanities Center "Beyond Despair: An Environmental Art Exhibition" juried by Joshua White. This exhibition was a partnership between The VAE and the National Humanities Center in Durham North Carolina. Stephanie's work was chosen out of several hundred applicants and was on display in the National Humanities Center for their "Beyond Despair" International Conference and continued to hang in their building for over 6 months. She was one of 3 artists chosen for their post announcing the conference and exhibition.
Anne Kutrow Memorial Award
In 2006 when Stephanie was a senior at Laney High School. She was awarded the Anne Kutrow Memorial Award for her figurative sculpture. The ceremony for the award took place at the annual Azalea Festival in historical downtown Wilmington. The history of the Wilmington Art Association and the annual Juried Spring Art Show attracts over 250 young artists to enter from the region. Stephanie was selected as the single entrance for her high school and ultimately won the award.
